A clear requirement reduces repeated discussions and helps assess candidate suitability. If information is incomplete, state what is known and what remains open rather than presenting guesses as confirmed specifications.
Explain what you need to find
Provide reference images or links, intended use, main materials, critical dimensions and structure. Specify whether you want the same item, a visually similar product or a supplier with a particular manufacturing capability. Number multiple references and explain what each one illustrates.
Separate mandatory, flexible and unresolved requirements
- Mandatory: key requirements affecting use, sales or project delivery.
- Flexible: permitted changes to color, packaging, accessories or other details.
- Unresolved: details without drawings, samples or reliable information yet.
- Customization: structural or material changes, new tooling or dedicated packaging.
Also give the expected quantity, trial-order plan, destination market and desired timing. Mark preliminary budgets or dates as estimates rather than confirmed conditions.
Use a short example to check completeness
Fictional example: find a dining chair similar to a reference image, with an initial order of about 200 units for a specified market. Frame material and load-related requirements need specialist confirmation; color is flexible, and flat-pack versus assembled packaging needs comparison. This illustrates how to organize information, not a real order or a product-test conclusion.
Confirm the service scope and deliverables before submission
FindBao currently offers manual sourcing / commissioned product finding, quotation requests and quote comparison. Confirm which candidates to organize, whom to contact, which terms to compare, what records will be delivered and how service fees or commissions are calculated. Sourcing does not automatically include supplier verification, factory audits, product inspection, purchasing on your behalf, goods-payment handling, warehousing, shipping or transaction guarantees; these services are not currently offered.
Version later additions or changes so earlier quotations can be matched to the relevant requirements. See commissioned product finding, quotation requests and quote comparison, and the RFQ guide.
